Our sailing experience with GUIDO, not sure how he did it but he organised the most perfect weather only a little storm for 3 hours. and we (the drunken 9 of us) set off into the sunset...
we got to see the life of sailing and how quick the ocean can change, Guido not only showed us the ocean but tought us about it, and how to manage the boat, the storm we had lasted 3 hours and it was reassuring to know we had an experienced captain.
we got to swim in the open ocean when it was really calm at a depth of 3000m, was intredible. us girls found that the best way to wash our hair is in the middle of the ocean hanging by one arm from the boat, would have made a nice shampoo ad.
food was great, Cheers to Guido, and then his family for the experience. i'd do it again in an instant.

Hello Silvia, Guido, Konny and Poppy!
Thanks a lot for a beautiful time at the Hostal and on the Sailing Boat - It was a pleasure to spent the time with you! For us as Non-Sailors it was especially vital to feel safe during the sailing trip, and due to the knowledge of Guido and Konny we definitely had this feeling all the time! Poppy served delicious meals every day, and this always accompanied with a smile! And even before we started the trip Silvia answered all our email questions always within one day!
So thanks to the Hostal Wunderbar Team and the Iliky Crew for an unforgettable experience ;-)

Wunderbar wunderbar wunderbar! A lovely lovely place run by the most helpful people I have ever met. From trying to buy a motorbike to eventually fixing up bicycles Slyvia and Guido have been absolutely fantastic! The Kuna made sleeping area is brilliant for relaxing hammocks, pool table etc and comfortable mosquito free beds. The area is beautiful and the locals very friendly from having dinner in peoples front rooms to $0.50c beer - come and visit!

If you're ever in Panama along the gulf side, especially if you are boating from Panama to Colombia, consider staying at Hostel Wunderbar. In the last few weeks i've stayed at several different hotels and hostels, and Wunderbar is among my favorites. While slightly more rustic than some, it is still extremely comfortable and the staff is fantastic. The setup is charmingly laid out with multiple facilities such as a kitchen, bathroom and showers, darts, pool table, and beds with netting. We are looking forward to staying again on return trips through the area.

Hostel Wunderbar has been fantastic. We have been backpacking through Panama for several weeks now, and it is refreshing to stay at a place where the hosts are so friendly and accomadating to their guests (speaking English is also a tremendous plus for us...our Spanish is spotty at best). The rooms and restrooms are extremely clean, and the free breakfast is very nice as well.
Sylvia and Guido (the owners) also have a wealth of knowledge about the boat trips through San Blas which has proven very insightful for us. We are very grateful for their help and hope to return one day soon.
Cheers!

Sailing to panama from cartegna or the oppsite way is the only way to go. The San blas islands are gorgeous and is something you have to see for yourself. The boat the seeadler was a comfortable sail. The captain and his side kick connie are very easy going and entertaining.
